Kelly Herrold has her weekly Poetry Friday post up on Big A little A , with tons of good links and more in the comments. My brother Gregory K’s posted (with permission of course) an original J. Patrick Lewis poem, A Sixth Grader Sees the Future … for those who don’t know the kids poetry world, this is a Big Deal.
Here’s a haiku I wrote about a month ago, and had previously posted in the Original Poetry thread at Seducersworld.
cool windy spring sun.
thoughts of you: two walks, two states.
cool calming spring clouds.

By the way, any poets and writers who happen on this thread might also be interested in the module on Promoting books on social networks at the Computers, Freedom, and Privacy social network workshop. Even though the focus of the workshop is on education and activism, a lot of the topics are relevant to other situations as well.
For example, there’s a suggestion in the work-in-progress Ten priorities for promoting your book* on Facebook about using Facebook events to coordinate and promote blogswarms and carnivals … activists aren’t the only ones who might want to do that! I don’t know how many poetry groups there are on Facebook, but it’s probably a bunch, and so if the admins wanted to coordinate, this would be a great way to get the word out to a lot of Facebookers who (like me) hadn’t heard of Poetry Friday and (unlike me) don’t have siblings in the kidlit world.
And if anybody’s got other thoughts about promoting books — or poetry — on blogs or social network sites, please leave them in the comments!
